God has been glorified. There was lots of opportunities to encourage believers and share the Gospel with the unbelievers.
On Tuesday, the Lord had me encounter giving a gospel tract to a call girl walking around the upper class bars(a hooker which dresses up to attract high dollar johns.) Told her Jesus loves her more than the world or any guy she would come across in the downtown area.
I moved to Market Square. Then I opened the Bible and began to read the Word. One of the first people to encounter me was a 87-year-old woman. She was a Fundamental Baptist(King James Version ONLY.) She told me, “The homosexuals lesbians are walking around here on Market Square and kissing each other openly. They need to read Deuteronomy about what God will do to the Homosexual.” Then she thanked me for reading the unadulterated Bible, i.e. King James Version 1611. What she did not know, I was reading the ESV(English Standard Version)….Hee, Hee, Hee. I did share with her how Jesus loves the Homosexual and died for their sins. I told her we need to tell those in homosexuality how true love comes only from the Lord. Apparently, it did not register in her head or heart about following thru with what the Bible says about the Lord wanting ALL to come to repentance, even the homosexual. Jesus loves the homosexual as much as he loves me.
A college hippie kid walked up to me and asked me to read from the book of Revelation about the locust coming out of the pit. Because he thought it sounds cool.(Revelation 9). Now I did read it, and told them it was not cool what is to come for those without Christ. Shared with him how he would not want to be around when this occurs and stressed the need for repentance and faith in Jesus.
On Thursday, I was passing out tracts and reading aloud the Bible. I walked past a young pregnant girl selling the local homeless paper, The Amplifier. I purchased a paper. Asked her if she had anything to eat. She told me no. I was the first person all day to buy a paper from her. She only been drinking water. I bought her a pizza from Tomato Head. As we sat on the patio area, I asked her about her situation and if she had a relationship with the Lord. She told me she got saved three years ago. The more I listened, the more the Lord put on my heart to pray for her. Before we parted, I gave her a pocket New Testament and the Calvary Chapel business card if she wanted a ride to church.
Saturday night put me on Market Square to open air preach. Some young college kid photographed me, several Christians came up to me to thank me for sharing Jesus. One of the Christians was the young lady I encountered at the beginning of the month. She was the one that showed me the evangelism style the Lord equipped her to share with the lost.
While I did not have the huge number of spiritually hungry people like I encountered in June with the Joplin tornado survivors, I wanted to be continually faithful in times of feast and times of famine.
After attending Calvary Chapel Sunday evening service, I went down to the sidewalk near Longbranch Saloon on Cumberland Ave. I prayed and began to read and preach God’s Word. Many standing outside the bar came up to me while I read the Scripture. Many mocked, some just stood beside me, then one young girl approached me.
